Centrica Business Solutions is looking for a Solar & Battery Storage Project Developer to assist in the development of solar and storage projects across North America, translating customer needs into technical guidelines and leading projects through pre-construction due diligence to contract.
Requirements
- Experience in commercial and industrial Solar projects is required with demonstration of full life cycle project experience from concept to performance. A clear set of completed solar projects that have been screened, audited, designed, installed, interconnected and commissioned with Permission to Operate.
- Experience in renewable financial modeling: demonstrated ability to maintain Excel based energy modeling.
- Understanding of construction of solar PV and BESS projects.
- Helioscope modeling skills (preferred)
- Good technical skills relating to Behind the Meter interconnection, inverters, racking, and overall system design for solar PV projects ranging from 100kW to 5MW DC.
- Past experience and an up-to-date knowledge of best practices as they relate to solar and storage projects (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Creating and managing cashflow models to capture all revenue streams specific to solar and storage projects.
- Assisting in management of incentive program enrollment for all projects, track timelines to ensure completion within target deadlines, and submit final documentation to secure program funding.
- Coordinating with the project development team and with the financing partner, communicating project updates and milestones achieved, providing transparency, and assisting in document sharing.
- Overseeing and/or performing the Helioscope design and budgeting of projects.
- Auditing sites as needed for PV solar installation suitability, environmental limitations, structural limitations, etc.
- Developing professional quality proposal content for technically complex, multi-site PV solar and battery storage systems (BESS) installations.
- Managing 3rd party vendor relationships and Scope of Work/proposals. (i.e. Electrical and Structural partners) .

- Open to flexible work schedules working fully remote or hybrid but must be able to travel occasionally.
- Preferably looking for someone to be near the following locations: California
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Business, or a related field. OR Bachelor’s in Distributed Energy/Generation.
- 2+ years of work experience in the solar industry and or Engineering and Operations.
- Valid Driver’s License; Travel required with employee’s automobile.
