Siemens is looking to solve the business problem of bridging the gap between technology and business in the Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit by hiring a Solution Engineer.
Requirements
- Software Application Knowledge: SieOps (salesforce); Autodesk suite, SKM, Etap, PSS/E or DE or other energy system simulation software, Microsoft Office, MS Teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends. Knowledge of NEC, IBC, IFC codes and application of LV and MV systems.
- Familiar with Siemens LV & MV solutions.
- Familiar with renewable energy solutions (solar PV, stationary battery storage systems).
- Knowledge are Industry knowledge and application of medium and low voltage networks, including, MV Switchgear, Motor starter, Low Voltage MCC, Switchboards, LV switchgear, Transformer, Protection and Automation functionality, and Network Communication.
- Experience with turnkey projects in medium voltage, low voltage, process automation, drives, and inverter applications.
- Experience with energy system simulation software such as SKM, Etap, PSS/E or DE.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design: Realize the functional concept of solutions in a project by technical detailed solutions in the Solution Engineering team.
- Design and engineer the solution down to detail to satisfy the specified requirements of the customer.
- Define the products, components and systems to be used and their specific characteristics.
- Configure the components and systems of the solution according to the project requirements.
- Develop detailed solutions for the integration to ensure the interaction of the individual elements as a functioning unit.
- Responsible for the realization of the solution with the required functionality and prepares the design documentation.
- May direct the executing units (e.g. manufacturing, procurement, logistics).
Other
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in an electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education; P.E. license preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a similar role in engineering or a related technical role.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Business Acumen: Ability to align technical solutions with business goals (e.g. identifying impacts of design changes on time & cost).
