The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering's Engineering Technical Services (ETS) is seeking a Solutions Developer to design and deliver technology-driven solutions that improve the way their schools operate, by understanding challenges, designing efficient processes, and bringing solutions to life through automation, low-code platforms, and AI-assisted development.
Requirements
- Experience designing and delivering solutions that improve operational efficiency or business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate stakeholder needs into functional solutions using requirements gathering, workflow analysis, or similar techniques.
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms or low-code tools (e.g., Power Automate, ServiceNow, Make.com, MuleSoft).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted solution development (e.g., AI-powered prototyping, automation, or code generation).
- Strong ability to analyze complex problems, identify inefficiencies, and recommend technology-enabled improvements.
- Proven success in consultative roles — guiding staff or departments toward adopting effective technical solutions.
- Experience documenting requirements, processes, and solutions in clear, reusable formats.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deliver functional solutions using a mix of low-code platforms, automation tools, AI-assisted development, and lightweight coding.
- Integrate systems and automate workflows to reduce redundancy, streamline operations, and improve service delivery.
- Document requirements and solution designs in a clear, consistent format to support adoption, maintenance, and knowledge sharing.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and automation tools, applying them to enhance ETS’s ability to rapidly deliver solutions.
- Partner with administrative and operational stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and design solutions that improve efficiency and align with FSE and ETS priorities.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly documented, understood, and translated into outcomes.
- Consult with departments and functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, guiding them toward sustainable, technology-enabled solutions.

- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
