Materion is looking to hire a Special Products Operator I to operate equipment for preparing and processing raw materials into final products like Zinc Arsenide, Thorium Fluoride, and Magnesium Fluoride.

Requirements

  • Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP and LIMs

Responsibilities

  • Measure and weigh raw materials, which are both solids and liquids
  • Operate on equipment such as mills, evaporators, crushers and blenders to prepare raw materials for processing
  • Operate on equipment such as vacuum induction furnaces, drying ovens and conveyor furnaces to melt and or dry intermediate products
  • Operate on material transfer equipment (double diaphragm pumps, screw, vacuum and bucket conveyers) for both liquids and solids
  • Operate on tumble and paddle blenders and overhead stirrers for mixing
  • Operate on using Human-Machine-Interfaces to interact with automated process equipment
  • Prepare reaction vessels for the next run by either rinsing, scraping, sanding, lining or sand blasting.

Other

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds at shoulder height
  • The candidate must be able to wear various grades of PPE, including fully-covered Tyvek suit, shroud, nitrile gloves and booties for extended periods of time with reasonable levels of accommodation for heat/humidity.
  • The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
