Ciena is looking to solve the problem of bringing technical use cases to life for their Blue Planet solutions by hiring a Technology Application Sales (TAS) Software Developer who can create product demos and enabling tools.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of software development experience, including internships or co-op roles.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java programming.
• Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Spring (Java) or REST API development.
• Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Interest in cloud-native development patterns.
• Understanding of relational or graph databases, such as PostgreSQL or Neo4j.
• Experience with cloud-native software development.

Responsibilities

• Configure and develop customizations and proof-of-concept solutions using Blue Planet, a division of Ciena, products.
• Create demo scripts, recordings, and supporting materials to articulate the use case and value of our solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to align business requirements with Blue Planet tools.
• Build expertise in telecom networks and OSS/BSS systems through mentorship and hands-on experience.
• Document and share insights to enhance team knowledge and enablement.
• Participate in workshops and design sessions to define and implement solution architectures.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and telco standards.
