Nationwide's Information Technology team is looking for a Software Engineer to support eB2B systems that enable critical business processes for Annuities, Life Insurance, and Retirement Solutions, ensuring Firms and Advisors can issue new business and service their customers efficiently. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions for electronic order entry, DTCC feed transmission, and file transfer management systems to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.
Requirements
- Advanced Java and SQL skills
- Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, SQL, C++, Python, JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
- Ability to tackle complex business and development problems.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
- Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
- Designs, develops, and optimizes data solutions that support electronic order entry systems, DTCC feed transmission, and file transfer management systems.
- Works closely with our team and business partners to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across our platforms.
- Crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications.
- Analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.
Other
- Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
- Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
- Associates may have on-call responsibility after normal working hours and/or on weekends.
