Northwestern Mutual is looking for interns to support their Advanced Markets function by completing tasks critical for the company's success, including market analysis, data validation, and identifying automation opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience using SQL, Power BI, and/or Excel functions to analyze data.
- Previous work or classroom experience in one or more of the following: Data Visualization, Probability or Statistics, Finance
- Experience in validating data for accuracy and completeness, utilizing Excel for cross-checking and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity.
- Knowledge of Excel formulas and functions, such as VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, PivotTables, and other analytical tools to manipulate and analyze data effectively.
- Proficiency in data visualization techniques, including the use of Excel charts and graphs to present complex data in an understandable and visually appealing manner.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
Responsibilities
- Conducting corporate and bank market analysis involving BOLI, COLI, and estate life insurance products, all while ensuring the validation of their market databases.
- Completing analysis, documenting requests, and other facets of current programs, and packaging it up for key stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for automation within data capturing, analysis, and reporting using visualization tools.
- Experience using SQL, Power BI, and/or Excel functions to analyze data.

- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
