The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law needs an intern to support their Communications department's Multimedia team with video production, editing, research, and administrative tasks to enhance their digital platforms and advocacy efforts.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite with preferred experience in Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with Zoom, Dropbox, Slack, Eventbrite, Canva, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is also preferred
  • Assisting on video shoots, including set up and filming using cameras, lighting, and sound equipment
  • Supporting with media management by ingesting and organizing video footage
  • Researching and gathering video elements, including sourcing footage, stills and music
  • Supporting team with video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Monitoring and researching latest social media trends to help inform team on emerging trends that influence video strategy and publication

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with creating video assets for Brennan Center’s digital platforms.
  • Assisting with video shoots, including set up and filming using cameras, lighting, and sound equipment
  • Supporting with media management by ingesting and organizing video footage
  • Researching and gathering video elements, including sourcing footage, stills and music
  • Supporting team with video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Monitoring and researching latest social media trends to help inform team on emerging trends that influence video strategy and publication
  • Assisting with video shoots, edit short-form video, research stills, motion and music for video production

Other

  • This internship is in-person at our New York City office.
  • All interns will assist with general research and administrative work for the Brennan Center, including coordinating meetings, and drafting routine correspondence.
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is preferred.
  • Familiar working in a fast-paced environment, able to follow video production schedules and ensuring that deadlines are met
  • Collaborating with various team members on projects, comfortable receiving, tracking, and applying feedback
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • The ideal candidates are independent self-starters, friendly, cheerful, energetic, punctual, resourceful, positive, detail-oriented, highly organized and must have a sense of humor!
  • Interns must also have excellent research, writing and communication skills; a strong visual vocabulary, as well as a passion for our issues.
  • This internship is only open to current undergraduate OR graduate students.
