Steampunk is looking for a Data Administrator to architect and develop data models, data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses, data governance, services, and pipelines for their clients who are looking to become a facts-based, data-driven, customer-focused organization by leveraging visual analytics platforms.
Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server internals, indexing, query optimization, and performance testing.
- Experience implementing and supporting SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and log shipping.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server monitoring tools
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with large-scale data migration.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience designing storage and retrieval solutions for both structured and unstructured data, in support of data science pipelines.
- Strong command of SQL tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead and architect migration of data environments with performance and reliability
- Experience in crafting database / data warehouse solutions in cloud (Preferably AWS. Alternatively Azure, GCP.)
- Helping build the structure and design of the database
- Implementing security measures for the data
- Controlling access to the database
- Building different environments for development, testing, and production
- Merging and migrating data when necessary
Other
- Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline.
- 8+ years of total experience.
- 5+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
