National General is seeking a SQL Database Developer to assist in developing, maintaining, and optimizing database structures, queries, and data processes to support business applications and reporting needs for vital National General systems.
Requirements
- Familiarity with SQL and basic knowledge of T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar query languages
- Understanding of relational database concepts, data normalization, and indexing
- Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent RDBMS
- Basic experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) or other data integration tools
- Familiarity with source code/version control systems such as Git or Azure DevOps
- Some experience with reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
- Internship or project experience with database systems
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and end users to understand data requirements
- Assist in the design and development of relational database schemas and data models
- Support database performance tuning and indexing efforts
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in SQL Server or other RDBMS platforms
- Assist with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for importing and transforming data
- Support database documentation, backups, and version control practices
