VetsEZ is seeking an experienced SQL Developer to support enterprise-scale data integration and modernization efforts within a federal healthcare program.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) or comparable relational databases.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development and data transformation logic across multiple systems.
  • Strong understanding of relational and dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
  • Experience with version control and change management in a collaborative development environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure SQL Database, Synapse, Databricks, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions to support data integration, transformation, and validation.
  • Develop and optimize complex queries to support analytics, reporting, and downstream system requirements.
  • Create and maintain logical and physical database objects including tables, views, indexes, and constraints.
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes to transform data from diverse source systems into harmonized formats for enterprise use.
  • Support schema design and performance tuning of relational and dimensional databases.
  • Collaborate with data modelers and architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise data standards and modeling practices.
  • Perform unit testing and peer reviews of SQL code to ensure accuracy, maintainability, and compliance with program requirements.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience with healthcare data systems or federal government programs.
  • Exposure to interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or CDA.
