BambooHR is looking to drive AI research initiatives by developing novel algorithms and advancing AI/ML technologies.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with a focus on AI and machine learning. Alternatively, equivalent experience: 5+ years of relevant applied research in industry.
- At least 2 years of applied research in industry
- At least 5 years of professional technical experience as a data scientist, machine learning engineer, AI specialist, software engineer working with intelligent systems, or similar
- Proven track record of conducting high-quality research and publishing in top-tier conferences and journals.
- Deep understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, and probabilistic models. Experience with machine learning frameworks, e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, SciKit-Learn, XGBoost.
- Solid software engineering skills, with at least 5 years of experience working on large projects, in teams, in major programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Strong background in mathematics and statistics, with the ability to develop and analyze complex algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research in AI and machine learning, focusing on developing innovative algorithms, ML models, and agentic pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify research opportunities and translate theoretical findings into practical applications.
- Mentor and guide junior researchers and other team members, fostering a collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and proactively identify new research directions.
- Work closely with engineers and data scientists to implement and deploy research outcomes into real-world applications.
- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences, and present at industry conferences and workshops.
Other
- This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week.
