WeightWatchers is looking to enhance its mobile app to support members in their health journeys, focusing on daily habit formation, long-term motivation, and improved health outcomes, while also integrating new clinical pathways and third-party services.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in Android development (Kotlin), with a solid grasp of Jetpack Compose, MVVM/Clean Architecture, and modular app structure.
  • Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining React Native features in a production mobile app.
  • Deep knowledge of the mobile development lifecycle and architecture best practices.
  • Familiarity with product instrumentation, feature toggling, and progressive rollout systems.
  • 10+ years of experience in Android app development.
  • 3+ years of React Native experience a plus, with an understanding of where cross-platform vs. native trade-offs make sense.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve key features of the WeightWatchers mobile app that support members in their health journeys: food tracking, activity logging, weight trends, progress milestones, and more.
  • Work across native Android and React Native platforms to deliver seamless and intuitive experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Behavioral Science teams to deliver features that support daily habit formation, long-term motivation, and improved health outcomes.
  • Own the implementation of upcoming flagship initiatives
  • Help shape the architectural decisions and technical standards for our Android and React Native applications.
  • Operate with high autonomy and influence: proactively question assumptions, bring new ideas, and champion product quality, performance, and member-centric design.
