CrowdStrike's NG-SIEM systems need to scale to accommodate over 100 PB of event and action data ingested daily, with up to 10 years of retention and millions of queries per hour, to ensure all customers' security-relevant data is continuously available for automated detection and response, threat hunting, and other Falcon use cases.

Requirements

• Experience in contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services
• Fluency in both functional and object oriented programming and the ability to pick up new languages on the go
• Demonstrated track record of operational excellence when complex distributed services
• Ability to communicate and articulate technical concepts crisply to individual contributors and management.
• Experience programming in Scala
• Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Hands on experience in large-scale (distributed) system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization - over 1 trillion requests per day or more than 10 PB of data per day

Responsibilities

• Develop new features as well as improving existing functionality for the LogScale Search team.
• Deliver this scale to customers by developing new features as well as improving existing functionality.
• Ensuring high quality of the features they deliver, by writing automated tests, and performing manual tests.
• Constantly observe and monitor new features in production, with LogScale dashboards of course.
• Making sure that LogScale continues to be scalable in terms of efficiently ingesting and digesting events, querying for the right data, while also ensuring the stability of the clusters.
• Deliver cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects by owning or participating in scoping, designing and developing of new features to open-ended problems
• Develop the LogScale backend in Scala and extending our product to keep LogScale scale with increasing ingest and query load while ensuring high availability

• Lead by example on customer and product focus, as well as on hands-on operational excellence by monitoring and following up on features released to customers and troubleshooting critical customer issues.

• 6+ years experience in software development in general and the ability to juggle making pragmatic tradeoffs between short-time delivery needs vs long-term product goals
