Peraton is developing the next generation of mission planning and command-and-control software for space communications programs, aiming to create modern, resilient services and capabilities to support the U.S. Government's critical space communications infrastructure for the next decade and beyond.
Requirements
- Experience in Python, with hands-on experience building scalable backend services and APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Proven experience working with modern infrastructure and tools, including PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, to support cloud-native application development and deployment.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of at least one major commercial cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including its native services for compute, storage, and security.
- Strong background in backend architecture and development, with a focus on performance optimization, security hardening, and system reliability.
Responsibilities
- Build multi-tenant services on public cloud platforms like AWS
- Build, architect, and consume APIs and backend services as part of the platform ecosystem with an emphasis on automation, testing, and security
- Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have a particular impact on your team and others
- Engage with customers and partners to facilitate integration with our services
- Solve complex technical challenges related to scaling space communications infrastructure
- design and develop core platform services that enable secure, scalable, and efficient satellite operations
- contribute as an individual developer while supporting technical decisions to ensure platform excellence
Other
- 7+ years of software engineering experience and a Bachelors Degree. Four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- This position requires the candidate possess a minimum Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
