The Enterprise Data Services department’s IT team supporting Global specialty is looking for a skilled Sr. Business Data Analyst to gather required data from various data sources, engage with business customers, and develop solutions for data assets and reporting.
Requirements
- Proficient in Industry Standard querying tools (SQL). Hands on experience with Snowflake is desired
- 6+ years of experience in business requirements or data analysis preferably supporting the Insurance industry and data warehouse or reporting/analytic projects
- Strong Insurance Product Knowledge
- Strong critical thinking skills and analytical ability
- Advanced business acumen with technical aptitude
- Experience in working in a Agile team environment
- Detail oriented with strong communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal)
Responsibilities
- Applies strong functional knowledge and elicitation techniques necessary to draw out data and analytics business requirements completely and accurately from stakeholders.
- Work together with internal partners determine needs, gather requirements, and develop solutions for data assets and reporting.
- Performs requirements planning, monitoring and requirements management.
- Independently performs rigorous data analysis, data discovery and data profiling using industry standard querying tools (SQL) to support business requirements development that are complete, clear, unambiguous, well written and appropriate to audience.
- Maintains data mapping documents, bus matrix and/or other data design artifacts that define business data requirements and transformation rules.
- Conduct root cause analysis on identified issues, providing assistance to resolve data quality problems.
- Supports the upkeep of data mapping documents and other design artifacts that outline business requirements and transformation rules

- Candidates must live near one of our locations (Danbury or Hartford, CT, Columbus, OH, Charlotte, NC, or Chicago, IL) and will have the expectation of working in office 3 days a week- Tuesday through Thursday.
