Requirements
- Expert-level SQL: Highly proficient in writing complex, performant, and well-structured SQL.
- Data Warehousing: Strong, hands-on experience with a modern cloud data warehouse (e.g., Google BigQuery).
- BI Tools: In-depth experience with BI platforms, with a strong focus on Looker (LookML development, administration, and optimization).
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): significant experience working on GCP
- Programming: proficiency in Python/Java for data scripting and automation.
- Experience with modern pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow.
Responsibilities
- Data Modeling & Transformation: Architect, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable data warehouse.
- Analytics Engineering & BI: Design and build our analytics semantic layer to provide a consistent and governed view of our data.
- Pipeline & ELT Development: Build, manage, and optimize data pipelines to ingest, clean, and enrich data from various sources.
- Advanced Analytics & Engineering: Develop complex queries, analytics applications, and software programs to solve advanced analytics and data mining problems.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with data analysts, data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to understand business requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
Other
- 6+ years of experience in a business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering role within a fast-paced internet or tech company.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into data models and reporting solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical data teams and business stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-driven, and collaborative attitude with a passion for enabling data users.
