Visa’s Technology Organization is seeking to solve complex distributed systems and massive scale problems centered on new payment flows, business and data solutions, cyber security, and B2C platforms.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java, Go, Python, or equivalent) and familiarity with modern web frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Experience with LLM and AI or ML Integration, including 2+ years with LLM orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embedding models, vector databases, and API integration of generative AI services.
- Full-Stack Engineering and Integration Architecture experience, including designing, building, and delivering secure, highly available applications across backend services and modern front-end frameworks.
- Cloud and Containerization experience, including public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Data Management experience, including working with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Application and Infrastructure Security experience, including applying secure-by-design principles, API security, and vulnerability remediation (OWASP Top 10, TLS, IAM, PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Responsible AI and Governance experience, including implementing bias detection, explainability, human-in-the-loop workflows, and compliance controls within AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of production-grade, AI-driven solutions across the Visa Acceptance Platform, ensuring they meet Visa standards for security, compliance, and reliability.
- Architect and integrate solutions that deliver predictable performance at scale, including zero-message-loss for mission-critical events and high availability globally.
- Apply secure-by-design principles and implement AI guardrails to mitigate risks, including jailbreak prevention, prompt-injection defense, and sensitive-data protection.
- Implement observability for AI services, monitoring model accuracy, latency, and drift.
- Evaluate problem patterns, recommend fit-for-purpose AI models and architectures, and justify design choices.
- Act as a technical consultant to internal product teams and external partners, translating complex integration requirements into scalable AI solutions.
- Collaborate with Visa product teams to expose capabilities via AI-enhanced developer tools, APIs, and workflows.

- 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
