NextGen Healthcare is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst with advanced SQL expertise to support their Data Science and AI initiatives through high-impact analytics and insights, enabling the development of safe, effective, and accurate AI solutions that drive meaningful outcomes.
Requirements
- Expert-level SQL skills for data exploration, query optimization, feature engineering and pipeline validation.
- Familiarity with modeling strategies (predictive analytics, NLP, classification, and GenAI applications).
- Understanding of healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA, data privacy, and AI governance best practices.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and visualization.
- Knowledge of AI evaluation frameworks (fairness, explainability, drift monitoring).
- Demonstrated experience applying Generative AI (GenAI) in healthcare contexts (clinical documentation, coding, patient engagement, or operations).
- Experience with EHR and practice management data domains is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end data analytics support for AI/ML/agent initiatives, including requirements analysis, exploratory data analysis, and business insights.
- Partner with data scientists to evaluate AI/ML models, measure performance, and ensure outputs are accurate, reliable, and clinically meaningful.
- Assess and prepare data for AI initiatives, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, ONC, CMS) and alignment with enterprise data standards.
- Support AI transparency, fairness, and compliance by documenting data lineage, assumptions, and validation processes.
- Deliver clinical and operational insights that inform the design and deployment of AI agents within EHR and practice management workflows.
- Work closely with product managers, AI/ML engineers, clinicians, and compliance teams to ensure AI/ML solutions meet stakeholder needs.
- Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
Other
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, or equivalent field.
- Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
- 5+ years as a Data Analyst, including direct experience supporting AI/ML teams.
- Communication skills.
- Strong ability to translate technical findings into insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
