NinjaTrader is looking to hire a Sr. Data Engineer to design and operationalize the modern data platform that powers their analytics, trading tools, and AI initiatives, enabling them to serve customers better, identify new opportunities, and improve processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or backend development
- Strong skills in SQL and Python for building and testing data solutions
- Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming)
- Familiarity with event-driven and service-oriented architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Prefect)
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for both batch and real-time streaming use cases
- Integrate complex financial APIs and third-party data sources into internal systems
- Collaborate with analytics, product, and ML engineers to develop and deploy reliable data products
- Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
- Build and support event-driven architectures and scalable platform components
- Contribute to the orchestration and automation of workflows (e.g., Airflow, dbt)
- Work on feature pipelines and model-ready data to support ML engineers
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Exposure to ML pipelines, feature engineering, or experimentation platforms (e.g., Weights & Biases)
- Experience in fintech, trading, or derivatives
