Tesla's Fleet Analytics team needs to leverage vast amounts of device data to improve autopilot, optimize hardware designs, proactively detect faults, and optimize electrical grid load. The team supports other engineers by providing direct data analysis and developing self-serve applications and tools.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or Scala
- Experience with frontend development in React
- Experience writing software in a professional environment
- Experience building data pipelines
- Experience building web applications
- Experience with infrastructure tools - e.g., Linux, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes
- Abie to approach complex problems from a first principles perspective
Responsibilities
- Build applications and data pipelines that optimize the efficiency and accuracy of analysis over petabytes of data
- Design and implement metrics, applications and tools that will enable engineers by allowing them to self-serve their data insights
- Write clean and tested code that can be maintained and extended by other software engineers
- Provide guidance to Tesla's data engineering and data science community regarding best practices
- Keep up to date on relevant technologies and frameworks, and propose new ones that the team could leverage
- Identify trends, invent new ways of looking at data, and get creative in order to drive improvements in both existing and future products
- Give talks, contribute to open source projects, and advance data science on a global scale
