Finance Technology at Nordstrom is seeking a Sr. Data Engineering Manager to support the financial platform team and lead the Finance and Sales Transformation effort, including building a new sales data pipeline and adopting new technologies
Requirements
- Deep familiarity with multi-cloud ecosystems, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Azure
- Experience in exploring and implementing AI and ML capabilities, specifically within data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with relevant technologies such as Vertex AI for pipeline development and Looker for dashboarding and reporting
- Direct experience with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, specifically Oracle Cloud ERP (Fusion, MFCS, and IMCS), and integrating with their data models
- Demonstrable experience owning and operating both business critical SaaS solutions and custom-coded systems servicing internal and external customers
- Experience in Finance Technology and/or Retail domains is a plus
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a closely related degree, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Assist in enhancing FinTech vision and strategies to support company goals
- Contribute to architecture, coding, test plans, project plans, deployment planning, and operations to drive excellence and lead the team towards its goals
- Manage complex scope of work with multiple tracks in progress at a given time, including operational excellence operating in a true DevOps model
- Own end-to-end cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap planning, resource planning, and project execution
- Partner with Program, Product, and Business teams to establish short-term goals and a long-term vision, including OKRs and other measurements of success
- Develop growth plans with engineers based on opportunities, their interests, Nordstrom Competencies, and our Tech Talent Framework
- Hire capable and motivated talent/teams that can deliver swiftly and predictably, adjusting in an agile fashion to deliver solutions aligned with business needs

- 10+ years of data or software engineering industry experience, or similar
- 5+ years of managing a team
- A BA/BS in Computer Science or a closely related degree, or equivalent practical experience
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment
