Takeda is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist to leverage advanced analytics to deliver data-driven solutions and insights that drive impactful business outcomes for their Plasma Derived Therapies Data, Digital & Technology (PDT DD&T) team. The role aims to enhance organizational performance by analyzing data, building predictive models, and operationalizing solutions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and advancing best practices within the Enterprise Data Science Community of Practice.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of current and emerging AI/Advanced Analytics technologies. Expertise in the areas of Data, Data Modeling, Statistical Methods, Quantitative Techniques, and AI/ML preferred.
- Familiarity with Analytics processes and service models.
- Solid understanding of applied statistical and math modeling, and ML techniques (e.g. Clustering, Classification, Regression, Dimensionality Reduction, Ensemble Methods, Natural Language Processing.
- In depth experience in Python, PySpark, or R for data curation, transformation, analysis, modeling, and visualization tasks.
- Experience in a matrix organization collaborating with different teams including data engineering, enterprise architecture, platform architecture, and other application teams.
- Leverage advanced technologies such as AI/ML and effective statistical models to drive business results.
- Harvest enterprise analytics platforms and tooling to support BI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Data Science Lead and team members in solving problems, analyzing data and developing advanced analytics solutions.
- Translate business processes and requirements into solutions. Understand the analytics drivers and data to be modelled and apply the appropriate quantitative techniques to solve problems.
- Design, develop, deploy and operationalize advanced statistics, data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML) solutions supporting business operations.
- Evaluate the data, analytics models and experiments periodically to validate hypothesis, ensuring it continues to provide business value as requirements and objectives evolve.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into business strategies and operations
- Ensure smooth, successful and timely delivery of statistical/data science solutions and AI/ML products.
- Design, develop, and operationalize decision support solutions using advanced statistical methods, data science/ML, and other quantitative techniques (e.g. simulation, math modeling, etc.) solving complex business problems.
Other
- A Master’s degree preferred with ~5+ years’ experience or Bachelors’ Degree with ~7 years of experience from an accredited institution in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or other quantitative fields.
- 5+ years of solid experience in statistics, quantitative methods (e.g. math modelling, simulation, etc.) and AI/ML/Data science experience in Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, technology companies or relevant regulated industries.
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of health care and retail operations.
- Provide guidance to junior team members and novice business users.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with multifunctional teams.
