Takeda is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist to leverage advanced analytics and AI/ML to deliver data-driven solutions that drive impactful business outcomes for the Plasma Derived Therapies Data, Digital & Technology (PDT DD&T) team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of solid experience in statistics, quantitative methods (e.g. math modelling, simulation, etc.) and AI/ML/Data science experience in Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, technology companies or relevant regulated industries.
  • Solid understanding of applied statistical and math modeling, and ML techniques (e.g. Clustering, Classification, Regression, Dimensionality Reduction, Ensemble Methods, Natural Language Processing).
  • In depth experience in Python, PySpark, or R for data curation, transformation, analysis, modeling, and visualization tasks.
  • Experience in a matrix organization collaborating with different teams including data engineering, enterprise architecture, platform architecture, and other application teams.
  • Solid understanding of current and emerging AI/Advanced Analytics technologies.
  • Familiarity with Analytics processes and service models.
  • Expertise in the areas of Data, Data Modeling, Statistical Methods, Quantitative Techniques, and AI/ML preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Data Science Lead and team members in solving problems, analyzing data and developing advanced analytics solutions.
  • Design, develop, deploy and operationalize advanced statistics, data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML) solutions supporting business operations.
  • Evaluate the data, analytics models and experiments periodically to validate hypothesis, ensuring it continues to provide business value as requirements and objectives evolve.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into business strategies and operations.
  • Design, develop, and operationalize decision support solutions using advanced statistical methods, data science/ML, and other quantitative techniques.
  • Interacts with business users to define pain points, problem statement, scope, and analytics business case. Develop solutions with recommended data model and data science techniques.
  • Present data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.

Other

  • A Master’s degree preferred with ~5+ years’ experience or Bachelors’ Degree with ~7 years of experience from an accredited institution in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or other quantitative fields.
  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of health care and retail operations.
  • Strong collaborating skills and experience in people management and skills development.
  • Proven track record of making the right decision to resolve issues and obstacles.
  • Demonstrated success in the areas of global business and IT relationship, vendor management, and governance.
