Leverage advanced Data Science, Machine Learning and AI to solve business critical problems within CNA's Long Term Care (LTC) business unit, which operates with a start-up mindset and is a strategic priority for CNA.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Excel, Python, R, and/or MATLAB for statistical computing and modeling.
- Experience with SQL and working with large, complex datasets.
- Working knowledge in machine learning, time series forecasting, survival analysis, and/or Bayesian methods.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and version control (e.g., Git) is a plus.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, probability theory, statistics, and econometrics.
- Deep understanding of insurance operations, especially in Long Term Care or related health/life insurance domains.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in data science, or analytics roles.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute data science projects that address complex business problems in the Long Term Care (LTC) insurance and life sciences domains.
- Develop and implement predictive, prescriptive, and simulation models using advanced statistical, mathematical, and machine learning techniques.
- Apply probability theory, statistical inference, and optimization methods to support strategic decision-making and risk assessment.
- Define project scope, methodology, and execution plans—from ideation to deployment and post-implementation review.
- Transform raw, complex datasets into actionable insights that drive business value and operational efficiency.
- Use data storytelling to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or other tools.
