Grubhub is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to tackle key challenges related to experimentation and causal inference in the Diner & Fulfillment area to guide decision making and drive success through projects within the experimentation domain.
Requirements
- An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related field.
- A deep understanding of statistics, with practical experience in experimentation or other areas of product analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL and quantitative programming languages such as Python or R.
- Solid product insight and intuition, applied in consumer-facing user interface contexts or when supporting technical teams, like product and/or engineering.
- A strong track record of mentoring, collaborating, and enabling others, particularly in your area of expertise.
- Actively contributes to technical communities by organizing or participating in events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Promotes open dialogue and supports diverse viewpoints, ensuring inclusivity across all levels of experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to create scalable, reliable experimentation processes for our evolving Diner & Fulfillment organization.
- Define evaluation metrics, design experiments, and conduct manual/ad-hoc analyses to become familiar.
- Leverage the existing Grubhub Experimentation Platform, establish and teach Experimentation best practices, and support data-driven decision-making at scale.
- Deliver high-quality solutions through data exploration, data modeling, causal inference and machine learning, with an emphasis on impactful results and valuable contributions to the broader Data Science and Engineering community.
- Act as a thought leader in experimentation for Diner & Fulfillment, advising Product, Operations, and Engineering teams on best practices and making compelling cases for prioritization and resource investments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, design, and other areas.
- Develop workflows, offer strategic insights, and drive success through projects within the experimentation domain.
