Medline Industries, LP is looking to establish strategic direction, development, implementation, and effective management of its Global Trade Compliance Program across the enterprise.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Customs valuation, HTS classification, Global FTA programs, country of origin determination, reconciliation, and drawbacks.
- Experience working with and building relationships with US Customs and Border Protection.
- ISA, C-TPAT, AEO and SASP application or management experience.
- Experience with FDA regulated products.
- Customs Broker License
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, management, and refinement of all elements of the Medline Global Trade Compliance Program, including ensuring appropriate development, documentation, and implementation of trade-related policies, procedures, and training.
- Together with Trade Counsel and, when appropriate, VP of Government Affairs, direct relationships with US and International Customs officials, Customs Brokers and other 3rd party trade entities involved in the import and export process.
- Provide advice and guidance on all customs and trade compliance matters, including activities related to U.S. and international customs rules, classifications under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, entry processes, valuation, country of origin determinations, and compliance with applicable customs rules and regulations generally.
- Mitigate customs and trade risks, identify opportunities for cost-savings and participate in various government initiatives and global trade programs.
- Continuously review, monitor, and evaluate HTS classifications, drawback and trade program eligibility, USMCA, GSP etc.
- Evaluate and oversee the management of supply-chain security initiatives, C-TPAT, AEO and FTZ optimization.
- Manage Trade System strategies globally and works with IS to ensure they are securely integrated with ERP systems across the enterprise. This includes trade data, 3rd Party Screening, FTZ, and IMMEX operating systems.

- At least 10 years import/export compliance experience with international responsibilities.
- Extensive experience with directing and leading an import/export compliance program.
- At least 10 years of experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership experience.
- Hands on and strategic management skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage a large, diverse global team.
- Excellent data, analytical and interpretive skills.
- Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes domestically as well as internationally.
