New Balance seeks to deliver best-in-class customer experiences across all channels using modern technologies and is looking for experienced back-end developers to connect systems in real-time across the globe.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in web development across all layers of the technology stack.
  • Expertise in one or more back-end programming languages (e.g., C, Java, C++); experience with .NET/.NET Core is a plus.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based software architectures and systems.
  • Familiarity with AI-based tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Strong knowledge of web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs, with a focus on efficiency and performance.
  • Experience integrating with REST and SOAP web services.
  • Proficient in writing unit and integration tests; experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop business functionality in multi-tier web solutions while improving code quality and infrastructure.
  • Build scalable, unit-testable solutions for our website applications and conduct code reviews.
  • Champion a culture of strong security, coding standards, architectural patterns, resiliency, and documentation practices.
  • Contribute across all phases of the software development lifecycle: planning, design, implementation, deployment, operations, and support.
  • Mentor and coach other developers; collaborate with offshore teams while leading technology direction and improving the codebase.
  • Offer assessments and recommendations on ecommerce system design, integrating components built by developers while ensuring architectural integrity.

Other

  • Communicate effectively with associates and business contacts, promoting a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Provide regular updates to management on project status, risks, and technology issues, and propose suitable alternatives.
  • E-commerce development experience, especially with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
