ebm-papst Inc. is looking to solve the business and technical problem of designing, prototyping, testing, and analyzing hardware and software for motor control and interfacing across various applications, while also driving innovation, ensuring product quality, and supporting organizational growth through effective leadership and people development within the Electrical Engineering Department.

Requirements

  • Embedded controllers (ARM core preferred), BLDC motor drives, analog/digital design, switch-mode power supplies, serial communication protocols.
  • Embedded C programming, interface testing, and system-level debugging.
  • EMC design practices, component stress analysis, mains power analysis, regulatory compliance (UL, IEC, ISO), and high-reliability design
  • PCB assembly processes, EMS partner evaluation, design for manufacturability/reliability, regulatory testing, and automated production testing.
  • Experience in global and/or regional manufacturing operations is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Direct department activities for new product development, modifications of existing designs, production process improvements, and test procedure development.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet performance, cost, compliance, and timeline requirements.
  • Develop and execute long-term electrical engineering strategies aligned with company technology roadmaps.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate emerging technologies (AI, IoT integration, energy efficiency improvements) for application in motor control and related products.
  • Ensure departmental proficiency in: Hardware: Embedded controllers (ARM core preferred), BLDC motor drives, analog/digital design, switch-mode power supplies, serial communication protocols.
  • Ensure departmental proficiency in: Software: Embedded C programming, interface testing, and system-level debugging.
  • Ensure departmental proficiency in: Compliance & Reliability: EMC design practices, component stress analysis, mains power analysis, regulatory compliance (UL, IEC, ISO), and high-reliability design

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field required.
  • 8+ years of related electrical engineering experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a matrixed organizational structure is also highly preferred.
  • Adhere to company policies and uphold organizational values.
