Cribl is looking for a visionary Engineering Manager to transform and lead their Engineering Productivity function. This team owns Cribl's Software Development Lifecycle end-to-end and is a key carrier of their engineering culture. The role involves working with all Cribl Engineering and technical teams to create tools, standards, integrations and processes that enable engineering productivity, velocity, quality, governance and security.

Requirements

  • Expertise in and passion for DevOps tools, productivity metrics and developer platforms
  • Background in building and deploying software within a SaaS environment
  • At least 6+ years of experience in a technical leadership role as a team lead or engineering manager

Responsibilities

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team dedicated to developing Engineering tools, standards and integrations
  • Drive velocity, throughput, quality, governance and security across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Identify and build metrics, KPIs and SLOs for end-to-end engineering effectiveness
  • Foster a culture of craft and technical excellence through tooling, processes and by setting high standards for design, code quality, and production robustness
  • Break down a high-level strategy into actionable steps to realize the long-term vision while delivering business value at every interim step
  • Take a hands-on approach when needed, providing code reviews, architecture guidance, and technical support to unblock the team
  • Drive projects from concept to completion, including customer outreach, problem statement, idea generation, design, implementation, testing and adoption

  • Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams with a focus on collaboration and effective delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and mentor high-performing engineers, supporting all stages of software development and maintenance
  • Experience leading remote teams in a dynamic, Agile environment is a significant advantage
  • Track record of establishing and promoting strong engineering practices and processes
  • Comfortable working with customers to understand pain points and collaborate on improvements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with 15+ years of industry experience
  • This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties
