SNC is seeking a Flight Sciences Engineering Manager to lead and support a growing team of engineers within the fields of mass properties, aerodynamics, loads, flutter, flight dynamics, thermal and more to deliver quality, meaningful results in the aerospace and defense sectors.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- A strong technical foundation in systems engineering design principles and practices
- Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, analysis, and simulation tools
- Exposure to Engineering Simulation such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis using tools such as StarCCM+ or CFD++
- Understanding of system-level static and dynamic modeling and simulation
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of engineers across the flight sciences disciplines deployed across programs at IAS.
- Program staffing – coordinate with multiple program teams to ensure the teams are set up for successful program execution
- People – Flight Sciences Engineering Hiring, Resource Management, Professional Development, Development Action Plans, Mentoring, and Training
- Process – Flight Sciences Engineering process compliance, development, improvement, training, metrics, and audits
- Tools – Flight Sciences Engineering Tool Training, Maintenance, and Modernization
- Represent the engineering flight sciences disciplines at all management level meetings
- Own and continuously improve processes and procedures
Other
- Bachelors of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant technical experience, which includes 6+ years of management experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment
- Self-starter, flexible, and adaptable with excellent verbal, communication, and people skills
- The ability to motivate/work with others
