Collins Aerospace is looking to modernize the Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) capabilities to our customer's most crucial platforms, specifically for the United States Air Force.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret after start.
- Five (5) years of experience in all phases of product development (full life cycle) in Systems Engineering programs.
- One (1) year of experience as an engineering lead, lead software/systems engineer, project lead, or IPT lead
- Experience/knowledge with development methods such as Iterative or Agile.
- Experience with Avionics and/or communication systems.
- Experience in design and development of processing systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team using strong interaction, interpersonal, mentoring and negotiating skills, and will be responsible for managing project risks/issues and elevating to upper management when appropriate.
- Direct the utilization of systems engineering fundamentals, project management, and development/test concepts for mission applications.
- Guide team members on the creation of engineering plans, execution baselines, program execution and staffing plans, and technical risk assessments in support of customer expectations and business objectives
- Guide team members on, the management of scope, schedule and budget for systems engineering activities; candidate must have experience in using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance measurement; candidate must be able to assign and coordinate staffing
- Lead, review, and provide guidance to team members on bid and proposal activities for Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and pursuits
- Perform hiring decisions, performance assessment, and personnel management for a team of technical staff members
- Adhere to and support Collins Aerospace process methodologies while managing commitments to meet project financial and schedule deliverables and quality requirements.
