Schwab's Retirement Plan Services Technology group builds and maintains applications and platforms supporting Schwab's retirement plan business, aiming to enable employees of served companies to create secure financial futures. The Senior Software Engineer will be a technical leader to deliver solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of .NET design and development experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, Microsoft SQL Server, SOAP and REST web services, CI/CD
  • A strong knowledge of, and demonstrated expertise in, software design, development, testing, maintenance, and support
  • Hands-on experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Experience with Test Driven Development and automated testing design
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, JIRA, Bamboo)
  • Familiarity with Cloud Platforms such as PCF, GCP, and AWS

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and develop software application systems mainly revolving around retirement plan administration
  • Participate on an agile team of developers, testers, product owners and scrum masters
  • Participate in discussions and engage other team members to flesh out system requirements where minimal information is provided
  • Design and build automated tests
  • Release applications to production environments on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Provide production application support for applications that require 99% uptime

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to build rapport with and influence team members, peers, and partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex technical issues and solutions to peers and partners
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
