Target is looking to solve the business problem of expanding its reach into new retail markets by building an end-to-end technology platform to support its Owned Brands-Wholesale business venture.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience and expertise with modern backend technologies, including Java/Kotlin, and databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or graph structures
- Experience with modern frontend programming in JavaScript and frameworks such as ReactJS
- Working knowledge and expertise on package-specific configuration and deployment along with ability to build custom solutions
- Strong proficiency in core development platforms within own domain
- Proven ability to design, write, and organize high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
- Experience with distributed event streaming platform like Kafka
- Experience with CICD: Code Pipelines like Docker, Drone, Vela, Spinnaker, Testing frameworks
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research initiatives, developing proof-of-concept prototypes, and conducting thorough code reviews
- Write, organize, and maintain high-quality code that adheres to architectural and operational standards
- Participate in structured development processes, including automation, debugging, and deployment, ensuring best practices are consistently met
- Proactively resolve technical issues, monitor system performance and capacity, and provide guidance to the team on design and architectural decisions
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
- Tackle complex challenges, make critical architectural decisions, and set the technical direction for the team
- Design and implement scalable, robust, and innovative solutions from the ground up

- 4 year degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong communication skills and coordinates with team, partners, and stakeholders effectively
- Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target’s technology capabilities, and key competitors’ products and differentiating features
- Ability to work in a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs
