Samaritan Health Services is looking to solve the problem of analyzing and reporting healthcare cost data and trends to inform strategic management decisions.
Requirements
- Proficiency with computer applications, such as MS Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point
- Knowledge and skills in business process project coordination or management
- Ability to extract data from data warehouse or reporting capabilities
- Experience in data modeling, informatics and analysis with demonstrated capacity to independently draw inferences and to communicate findings
- Experience in managed healthcare and insurance operations preferred
- Knowledge of managed care concepts, basic methodological design, and strategic management reporting
- Ability to identify complex problems and develop creative solutions
Responsibilities
- Applies specialized statistical, technical, and analytic skill to produce analyses and reports to the development and analysis of healthcare cost data and trends
- Performing analytical and technical tasks necessary to execute each phase of an analysis based on an advanced understanding of managed care concepts, basic methodological design, and strategic management reporting
- Extract data from data warehouse or reporting capabilities
- Identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization, facilitate communication, and effectively document related activities
- Develop and analyze healthcare cost data and trends
- Perform group presentations, tactfully discuss issues, and listen to and understand concepts, rules and procedures
Other
- Employment commitment to Samaritan is required
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, public health, information systems, computer science, finance, or a comparable program with a quantitative emphasis; or equivalent related experience required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Seven (7) years related experience in data modeling, informatics and analysis with demonstrated capacity to independently draw inferences and to communicate findings required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to perform group presentations, tactfully discuss issues, and listen to and understand concepts, rules and procedures
