General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a senior-level Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialist and Technical Advisor to support the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) program. This role combines logistics expertise with deep technical understanding of submarine combat systems, providing a unique opportunity to influence how next-generation U.S. Navy systems are maintained, operated, and documented.
Requirements
- Fully proficient knowledge of ILS elements and Acquisition Logistics principles
- Experience with IETMs, technical manual development, and documentation in accordance with DoD standards (MIL-STD-3001, 38784, 24784, 40051-2C)
- Operational familiarity with SWFTS, CIS, or CCE components
- Strong grasp of Navy maintenance procedures and philosophies, especially for combat systems
- Experience working within Navy logistics systems such as CDMD-OA, TDMIS, or SCLSIS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), XML authoring tools (XMLSpy) or similar, and diagramming in Visio
- Comfortable interpreting schematics, interface documentation, and system configuration artifacts
Responsibilities
- Lead development and review of ILS products, including technical manuals, training materials, and maintenance documentation
- Participate in design reviews, software implementation demos, and technical interchange meetings (TIMs)
- Provide operational feedback on feature design and implementation impacts to engineering and technical writing teams
- Validate and refine Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) content for usability, technical accuracy, and structural integrity
- Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and government stakeholders to resolve content discrepancies
- Translate complex system behavior into maintainable and user-friendly technical documentation
- Develop and review preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation

- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Management or Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
