The purpose of this position is to develop educationally sound and engaging reference materials and training solutions for Publix retail and support associates, serve as a training and documentation subject matter expert (SME) for Publix and work with instructional designers and business areas to create materials for change management related efforts.

Requirements

  • 2 years working with Microsoft Word or equivalent word processing tool
  • 2 years working with PowerPoint or equivalent presentation software
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Basic skill level in Scripting/programming languages (HTML, Javascript, CSS) and Online help software
  • Basic skill level in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise, Studio, Replay), Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Audition), Learning Management System, Canva, Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and Publisher
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with web programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, ActionScript, or CSS languages

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, maintaining, and producing reference materials, including reference & procedure guides (up to 1500+ pages), job aids, online help files, and electronic sites with digital media (such as reference videos) in accordance with Publix templates, Information Mapping principles, and Change Management standards
  • For developing and maintaining written and online training materials that motivate associates and instill the knowledge and confidence to execute their responsibilities
  • For participating in and conducting a training needs analysis (work study analysis) to collect information necessary to design and develop reference and training materials
  • Coordinating with Change Management and other business areas on tasks, feedback, and issues related to project workload and balancing multiple projects at different project phases and varying levels of scope and complexity
  • Project planning, coordinating, and designing educationally sound training solutions that meet both learning and business objectives for simple projects

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, or Instructional Design, Psychology with an emphasis or concentration in industrial psychology or organizational management, Digital Communication or other Communications degrees, or other analytical area or equivalent work experience
  • Must be at least 20 years of age and have a valid driver's license
  • Must have and be able to maintain an excellent driving record
  • Ability and willingness to adjust one's style or approach in response to differing circumstances or to work in ambiguous situations
  • Must be willing to travel by air, including overnight stays as needed
