Abbott is looking to design, develop, and validate software for embedded systems within their Infectious Diseases Group, ensuring compliance with FDA requirements and addressing moderate scope problems to empower smarter medical and economic decision-making.
Requirements
- Proficiency in software implementation
- Demonstrates expert knowledge and proficiency of the complete software development process.
- Strong hands-on programming knowledge in Java
- Experience with visual modeling, multi-threading, formal development methodologies, and source code management
- Solid understanding of embedded software principles and best practices including SDLC.
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is expected of knowledge level at least.
- Strong knowledge of C and C++ is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate software using languages such as JAVA, C, C++, C-Sharp, and Python
- Assist in preparing software design requirements and specifications in accordance with Abbott's design development process
- Evaluate selected designs through testing and documentation, addressing problems of moderate scope. Participate in software development, verification, and validation activities under guidance
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable software using Java, with a strong grasp of OOP, data structures, concurrency, and design patterns.
- Develop and maintain database, JDBC, RESTful and SOAP-based web services, ensuring high performance and security.
- Architect and implement microservices and SOA-based solutions using frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Jakarta EE.
- Assist in the integration of internal and external systems using API gateways, message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and enterprise integration patterns.
