PJM's Day-Ahead Market Operations Department needs support in operating and supporting the Day Ahead and Real Time Energy Market
Requirements
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
- Experience using relational SQL databases
- Experience with software development and testing
- Experience with power system analysis
- Experience with energy market operations
- Familiarity with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Understand the operational and technical aspects of PJM’s Markets including Day-Ahead Market, Fixed Transmission Right Auction, Real-Time Locational Marginal Price calculation, and Ancillary Services Market.
- Perform power system analysis and document results.
- Test software application enhancements and document results.
- Develop new technical software tools and enhance existing applications to support Market Operations.
- Query relational SQL databases and handle effective-dated tables and records.
- Run a suite of software daily, clearing a forward market which matches generation, load and financial instruments in a security constrained transmission system.
- Work with other members of the Market Services Division, System Operations Division, and Planning Division in problem-solving and streamlining processes.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or equivalent work experience
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work some weekends and holidays as part of a team rotation
- Master's degree in Engineering (preferred)
