IPSY is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead and grow their Data Engineering team. The role involves architecting and delivering efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines to support personalization engines, analytics, AI/ML, and operational needs, while also exploring and enabling GenAI use cases.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and modern cloud data architecture (preferably AWS).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt.
• Deep understanding of batch and streaming data processing paradigms.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance.
• Experience enabling GenAI or ML workloads through curated, production-grade data pipelines.
• Exposure to modern data cataloging, observability, and quality tools (e.g., Monte Carlo, DataHub, Great Expectations).
• Experience managing distributed or hybrid teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to design, build, and maintain robust, efficient, and scalable data pipelines.
• Own the architecture and execution of data solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark on the cloud (AWS).
• Partner with ML and GenAI teams to enable experimentation and deployment of AI-driven features by delivering trusted, high-quality data.
• Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering including CI/CD for pipelines, data versioning, testing, and monitoring.
• Drive data platform modernization by identifying inefficiencies and leading initiatives to optimize cost, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, model design, and implementation plans.
• Ensure strong governance, observability, security, and data quality standards are met.

Other

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
• Proven track record of leading teams in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and distributed systems.
• Solid communication skills and the ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Background in e-commerce, consumer tech, or personalization at scale is a strong plus.
• This position reports to the Sr. Director, Engineering and can be fully remote from any U.S. state where IPSY is authorized to hire.
