Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Model based development Engineer to serve as the technical leader for Model Based Quality across Pratt & Whitney’s internal and external operations. This position requires unquestionable ethical dedication for safety and quality. This position draws on the Model Based Quality and AI body of knowledge as the basis for proficiency and works with all Quality sub-disciplines to apply it to PW manufacturing operations including process planning, inspection, Manufacturing Readiness Levels, MRB, etc.... MB-DMI and AI are company-wide initiative to augment 3D models with formats that enable automated consumption in manufacturing business processes such as: Inspection programming, Tool Design, Work Instruction authoring, First Article Inspection, Process Capability Analysis monitoring & reporting, Physics based modeling, Material Review Board (MRB) for discrepant material. This effort is focused on creating and deploying AI models to drive predictive outcome of quality processes.
Requirements
- Proficiency in various Model Based Definition formats such as STEP 242, QIF, JT.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
- Proficiency in AI model definition and Agent development.
Responsibilities
- Leading organization in ensuring product and process compliance by providing guidance and direction with regards to Quality AI and requirements.
- Provides technical leadership to Quality, Engineering and Operations on MB-DMI and Quality AI.
- Working closely with PWA broad customer base including Mod Centers, Operations Quality, Supplier Quality and others.
- Mentoring and training of quality professionals in Quality AI.
- Responsibility helping launch Model based quality initiatives across the enterprise.
- Drive products and process improvements to ensure quality goals are met.
- Ensure Model Based Definition data elements (geometry, annotations, attributes, product characteristics, presentation states) are created with human and machine-readable compliance and digitally consumed data collection.
Other
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 10 years experience (Engineering, OpX, Quality or equivalent), or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
- Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with training and mentoring quality professionals to improve proficiency.
- 10+ years supporting Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering.
- A solid understanding of manufacturing and quality systems and processes at Pratt & Whitney.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
