Support application modernization efforts at the U.S. Department of State by assessing existing legacy tools and delivering modern, maintainable, and scalable solutions using low-code/no-code Power Platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years in IT solution development, including 2+ years hands-on with Power Platform (especially Power Apps and Power Automate)
- Strong understanding of Power Fx, Dataverse schema design, and solution architecture
- Experience reviewing legacy applications and identifying modernization paths
- Comfortable integrating APIs, third-party systems, and enterprise data sources
- Proficiency with M365 tools, Power BI, and basic scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.)
- Skilled at mentoring users on app maintenance and enhancement
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
Responsibilities
- Assess & Recommend: Evaluate legacy .NET and SharePoint applications to determine modernization options using Power Platform.
- Design & Build: Develop end-to-end solutions in Power Apps and Power Automate, leveraging Dataverse and integrating with M365 and other data sources.
- Prototype Quickly: Create proofs of concept to showcase Power Platform capabilities for solving business challenges.
- Support & Scale: Assist business users and citizen developers in extending and maintaining apps for long-term success.
- Document & Train: Produce clear documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure Best Practices: Advocate for scalable architecture, intuitive UX, strong data governance, and security compliance in all solutions.
