Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Planning Analyst to support multiple locations within the Integrated Mission Solutions Operating Unit of Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector, focusing on Staff Forecasting, Cost Account Management, and Data Analysis.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Experience with Tableau/PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise with SAP and Bill of Material processes.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Project (MS Project)
  • Expertise in developing new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Skilled in developing solutions for complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.
  • Able to communicate effectively and present technical approaches and findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve engineering business processes concerning Digital Transformation, cost account management, and staff forecasting.
  • Track costs and labor, ensuring accurate metrics reporting.
  • Train team members in staffing tools and support the development of metrics dashboards with the Operating Unit data team.
  • Provide project management support for process improvement efforts related to digital transformation, assisting the Support Engineering Manager.
  • Support material status reporting metrics and Manufacturing Bill of Material training and development.
  • Collaborate with Program Management and Engineering/Operations teams to enhance data and process interfaces.
  • Prepare and coordinate the plans and schedules for new or existing programs, determining, monitoring, and reviewing costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements.

Other

  • High School Diploma/GED and 12 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with 8 years of experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience will also be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management or business management experience.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing tasks.
  • Excellent communication, business analytical, and problem-solving skills.
