DataDirect Networks (DDN) is looking to solve the problem of ensuring the quality of their mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic components, subassemblies, and final assemblies to meet their quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in using mechanical inspection tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
- Familiarity with ERP and quality systems (e.g., Oracle, Propel, etc.).
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification.
- Working knowledge of ESD controls and cleanroom practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, incoming, and final inspections using appropriate tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscope, etc.).
- Interpret and apply complex mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
- Document inspection results and non-conformances in DDN’s quality systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on first article inspections (FAI), new product introduction (NPI), and production validation.
- Support supplier quality by inspecting components received from vendors and communicating quality issues for disposition.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA) processes.
- Assist in training junior inspectors and operators on inspection standards and techniques.
