Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
- At least 5+ years’ experience working in the field of data science
- 5+ years leadership experience
- Understanding of Material research
- Background in Chemical development
- Experience with new product and technology development in a highly regulated environment
- Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and researchers in the analysis, modeling, and interpretation of complex data sets. Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging team members to explore new techniques and creative problem-solving approaches.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects from conception through implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Develop and implement project timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Research and Development: Drive the development of advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to enhance product offerings and operational efficiency. Envision and spearhead the implementation of infrastructure essential for advancing the transformation of artificial intelligence in materials research.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D leaders, product management, and ISC, to integrate data-driven insights into business strategies. Collaborate with external partners and academic organizations to leverage cutting-edge research and technologies.
- Strategic Vision: Contribute to the strategic direction of the company by creating and implementing the roadmaps for implementing AI in to material research. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics, ensuring the team's methodologies remain current and effective.
- Data Governance: Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in all projects, adhering to relevant regulations and best practices. Implement data management strategies that promote responsible and ethical use of data within the organization.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of data science initiatives. Present findings and recommendations to leadership based on data analysis.
