10x Genomics is seeking to solve complex biological problems by building innovative products, including the development of novel molecular biology assays for single-cell applications.
Requirements
Proficient in standard molecular biology techniques, including cell/tissue and sample preparation, nucleic acid purification (RNA/DNA), amplification, qPCR, and DNA sequencing.
Experienced in NGS library preparation and familiar with data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, and R.
Skilled in troubleshooting and optimizing molecular biology assays and designing experiments to improve performance.
Knowledgeable in lab best practices, including avoiding nucleic acid cross-contamination and effective multichannel pipetting.
Familiarity with single-cell transcriptomics and next-generation sequencing library preparation workflows.
Experience with tissue handling techniques, including fresh frozen, FFPE, cryo-sectioning, and antigen retrieval, across various tissue types.
Knowledge of NGS and related applications (e.g. RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, etc.)
Responsibilities
Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams throughout all stages of product development.
Support the development and optimization of novel molecular biology assays for single-cell applications, including molecular barcoding, nucleic acid amplification, and NGS library preparation.
Develop a deep understanding of the interplay between molecular biology, chemistry, and microfluidics, troubleshooting product deviations and identifying creative solutions.
Plan and perform experiments, accurately document procedures, and analyze data with guidance.
Communicate results clearly through documentation and presentations to inform critical design decisions.
Other
BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in molecular biology in academic or industrial settings.
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills; capable of performing complex, multi-step experiments with meticulous attention to planning, technique, and record keeping.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings clearly and concisely.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
