Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Kuiper Security team owns the security of product and operations of Project Kuiper end-to-end, providing necessary paved path services, infrastructure and mechanisms to ensure the security of our satellite constellation and to protect the integrity and confidentiality of our customer data.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Responsibilities
- design and deliver on foundational cryptographic tools, libraries and services that support the overall security of our network.
- work with our passionate, talented, and inventive engineers and scientists, to develop industry-leading PKI and Security Paved Path services.
- designing the security controls across our security and trust services, influencing partner teams on the right security requirements and helping drive adoption of secure by default solutions to achieve and maintain the desired security posture.
- innovate in Security and PKI, helping drive proposals and processes, deliver security tools and automations.
- establish, share and leverage security best practices, tools and capabilities to reduce the overall cost of security.
- strategically influence the right security outcomes, diving into the various sources of issues across our Discovery mechanisms.
- lead a team that works on all aspects of security and governance across our mission critical services, from discovery across our development and testing mechanisms, controls design and development, and security tabletops to designing solutions in partnership with your partner development teams.
