Amazon Leo is looking to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks, specifically for U.S. Government customers such as NASA, DoD, and other National Security customers
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Rust
Responsibilities
- Utilize network layer packet processing experience and Software Defined Networking to develop high data rate packet processing system and other enabling interface software to meet unique Government customer needs
- Demonstrate the capabilities of the interfaces and architectures you define in a simulated test environment you help develop
- Solve complex technical problems related to the use of the Amazon Leo constellation for Government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver on software and interface requirements
- Ensure systems meet Amazon Leo and Government customer performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements
- Effectively communicate project health, risks and issues to stakeholders and management teams
- Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner

- Onsite work is required five days a week
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Ability to work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff
