Microsoft is seeking a Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of intelligent, scalable, and resilient services
Requirements
- 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 6–10 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of delivering cloud-scale services
- High level of expertise in system design, distributed computing, and performance optimization
- Proficiency in C-Sharp, Python, or JavaScript, and familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
- Experience with AI development tools and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI APIs, transformers, semantic search)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, and infrastructure-as-code
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop distributed systems and microservices using modern programming languages and cloud platforms
- Integrate AI capabilities such as natural language processing, semantic search, and intelligent agents using frameworks like Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent
- Drive performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency through telemetry, asynchronous I/O, and system profiling
- Ensure robust data validation, schema enforcement, and compliance with privacy and security standards
- Collaborate across disciplines to define technical requirements, review designs, and deliver high-quality software
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team
Other
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
- Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
