Microsoft is looking to secure digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in customers' heterogeneous environments, as well as ensure the security of its own internal estate, by hiring a Sr Software Engineer for the Cloud & AI organization.
Requirements
- Coding experience in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Experience with Data Handling at scale
- Experience building and operating cloud-based mission critical software
- Experience with Kubernetes/AWS/GCP/Azure is a big plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Synapse and Microsoft Service Fabric
- Experience with distributed systems and high-performance software solutions
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration and deployment
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance software solutions using Java, C, or C++
- Architect and implement distributed systems that handle large volumes of data efficiently and reliably
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and enhancements
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical applications in production environments
- Apply best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration and deployment
- Contribute to technical discussions and help drive architectural decisions to support long-term scalability and maintainability
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis to improve system resilience and reduce operational risk
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check required
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience (preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a growth mindset and good collaboration skills
